"I would like to say congratulations to Julia on the new launch of True To You! I know it will be a big success.
We are in the mid-stages of the mixing process on Ringleader Of The Tormentors here in Rome, and it has been a dazzling experience. Tony Visconti has been exceptional, and we are all very proud of the results.
The first single will be released in the second week of February, and the album will follow around March 20th.
Our plan to play Mexico City on New Year's Eve has not materialised - no decent financial offer to make the journey possible, which is sad.
We have moved our Italian and Greek and Turkish dates to February which will be the tour to launch the album.

La produzione del nuovo album di Morrissey è stata presa in carico da Tony Visconti, che si trova a Roma con lo stesso Morrissey e la band. L'album dovrebbe essere completato entro il 1° novembre ed è intitolato "Ringleader of the Tormentors" (Il capobanda dei tormentatori). Tony Visconti è famoso per la produzione di tutti i primi album dei T.Rex e di David Bowie. Jeff Saltzman, che era stato inizialmente incaricato della produzione, non ha potuto assumere l'incarico del progetto. L'album è ingegnerizzato da Marco Origel, un ingegnere del suono dell'area di San Francisco. "Ringleader of the Tormentors" verrà pubblicato dall'etichetta Attack nei primi mesi del 2006. Ringleader of the Tormentors
Production on the new Morrissey album has been undertaken by Tony Visconti, who is in Rome with Morrissey and the band. The album should be completed by November 1st, and is entitled Ringleader Of The Tormentors. Tony Visconti is most famous for production on all of the early albums by T.Rex and David Bowie. Jeff Saltzman, who was originally named as producer, could not undertake the project. The album is engineered by Marco Origel, who is from the San Francisco area. Ringleader Of The Tormentors will be released on Attack early in 2006. Morrissey is delighted with the album which he describes as “the most beautiful—perhaps the most gentle, so far.” |

I musicisti che stanno registrando a Roma con Morrissey sono: Jesse Tobias (aveva sostituito Alain Whyte durante una parte del tour 2004), Alain Whyte, Boz Boorer, Gary Day, Mikey Farrell e Matt Chamberlain. Quest'ultimo sostituisce Dean Butterworth alla batteria, dopo che Deano ha deciso di rimanere con i Good Charlotte. Morrissey sta valutando le offerte di concerti in Turchia, Grecia ed Italia per novembre, Nuova Zelanda e Australia per dicembre. C'è inoltre un concerto pianificato a Città del Messico per capodanno. Il nuovo album uscirà per l'etichetta Attack della Sanctuary Records.

In questi giorni di settembre Morrissey si trova a Roma per registrare il suo nuovo album che vedrà la luce nella primavera del 2006. Il produttore del disco è Jeff Salzman (ha lavorato con The Killers). Lo studio è quello utilizzato in precedenza da Ennio Morricone per incidere le colonne sonore di alcuni film ed è situato nelle catacombe di una chiesa del 17esimo secolo. A quanto afferma l'addetto stampa, il disco sarà molto più movimentato e rock rispetto al precedente.

These September days have seen Morrissey in Rome to record his new album. Its release will probably be in spring 2006. Producer is Jeff Salzman (he worked with The Killers). The studio is the former recording place used by Ennio Morricone to compose some of his famous movie soundtracks, which happens to be located in the catacombs of a seventeenth-century church. According to his publicist, "It's apparently the most full-on rock record Morrissey's ever done. It's a balls-to-the-wall rock record, not a slow one like the last one."

20/08/2005 - Morrissey comincerà a lavorare sul nuovo disco in settembre
Morrissey ha annunciato che inizierà il lavoro sul suo nuovo album a settembre. Il seguito di "You are the quarry" del 2004 sarà registrato a Roma. Non ci sono ulteriori dettagli al momento, ma pare che l'album sarà prodotto con la collaborazione di due musicisti, che hanno avuto un picco di notorietà negli anni 1980-81. I loro nomi sono sconosciuti per adesso, ma sembra proprio che la collaborazione con Alain Whyte e Martin "Boz" Boorer sia avviata alla conclusione.
Morrissey to start work on new record
Morrissey has announced that he will start work on his new album in September. Morrissey will record the follow-up to 2004’s ‘You Are The Quarry’ in Rome, Italy. No further details available at the moment, but it seems that the album will be produced with the collaboration of two musicians, whose fame was high in the early days of the 80's (1980-81). Their names are still unveiled at the moment, thus the collaboration with Alain Whyte and Martin Boorer appears to have come to an end. |
