Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to keep it updated during the last 25 years are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts, passions and some bits of Life. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of the most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has always been a strong supporter since when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

Treat Me Like A Human Being

It's hard, but try
It's hard, but try
For once, just for once
Just for once
Leave all your hate behind you
It's still all so strange and obscene
For you to look and see one who is real
And who feels life
Three words could change my life
So once, just for once, just for once
Let the night pass with ease, so...
Treat me like a human being
I'd like to know how this feels

Three words could change my life
Yet you treat me like you never care
Although three words could change my life
You still treat me like you never care

Studio outtake from October 1987 "Viva Hate" recording sessions, published as a b-side to "Glamorous Glue" single EMI re-release in April 2011. It actually was a candidate for the album but was abandoned by Morrissey and Street when they came up with stronger material. The title was probably a conscious nod to one of Morrissey's favourite New York Dolls' songs "Human Being", later covered by Morrissey himself. Curiously the track could be found on the Internet with a different title "Treat Me Like A New York Doll".

Me Like A New York Doll".
