Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to update it are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts and passions. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has been a strong supporter when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

I Know Very Well How I Got My Note Wrong

A child in a curious phase
A man with sullen ways
Oh, I know very well how I got my name

You think you were my first love
You think you were my first love, but you're wrong
You were the only one
Who's come and gone

When thirteen years old
Who dyed his hair gold?
Oh, I know very well, I don't need to be told

You think you were my first love
You think you were my first love, but you're wrong
You were the only one
Who's come and gone

You were the only one
Who's come and gone

(spoken) when they're duff, they really are fucking duff...

A limited 7" / CD came with the Durutti Column's album "Vini Reilly", containing this version of I Know Very Well How I Got My Name, where Vini screws it up at the very end, and him and Morrissey collapse in laughter.

Album: [unreleased]
Year of Publication: 1995
Lyrics: Morrissey
Music: Stephen Street / Vini Reilly

So molto bene come ho steccato la nota

A tredici anni

Album: [unreleased]
Anno di pubblicazione: 1995
Testo: Morrissey
Musica: Stephen Street / Vini Reilly
