Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to keep it updated during the last 25 years are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts, passions and some bits of Life. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of the most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has always been a strong supporter since when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

Black-eyed Susan

Black-eyed Susan
You make us nervous
Because we're very aware that you do not care

Black-eyed Susan
What don't you believe in?
"No is always easier than Yes"

Black-eyed Susan
You must insist:
You are a born-again atheist, oh

Oh, heavy-rings on
Bitten fingers
Black-eyed Susan sometimes
Shakes to break
So, watch it

Black-eyed Susan
Rest and do nothing
'Cause it's the only thing that you do quite well

Black-eyed Susan
Please remember
We were the first
We were the first

There is some debate as to the source of the title of this song. Is it a type of flower? Or a maritime poem by H. Carey? It has even been suggested that this song is about Siouxsie Sioux (from dark band Siouxsie and The Banshees), who recorded the single "Interlude" with Morrissey. Apparently this song is influenced by a song called "Susan" by sixties band The Buckinghams.

Susan dagli occhi neri

Susan dagli occhi neri
Tu ci rendi nervosi
perché siamo ben consapevoli che a te non importa

Susan dagli occhi neri
In cosa non credi?
"No è sempre più facile di Sì"

Susan dagli occhi neri
Devi insistere:
Tu sei un'atea rinata alla fede, oh

Oh, anelli pesanti sulle
dita mordicchiate
Susan dagli occhi neri qualche volta
trema fino a spezzarsi
Perciò, fa' attenzione

Susan dagli occhi neri
Riposa e non fare nulla
perché è l'unica cosa che fai davvero bene

Susan dagli occhi neri
Per favore, ricorda
Noi siamo stati i primi
Noi siamo stati i primi
