Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to update it are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts and passions. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has been a strong supporter when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

Hairdresser On Fire

Here is London, giddy London
Is it home of the free or what?
Can you squeeze me
Into an empty page of your diary
And psychologically save me?
I've got faith in you
I sense the power
In the fingers
Within an hour the power
Can totally destroy me
Or it could save my life
Here is London
'Home of the brash, outrageous and free'
You are repressed
But you're remarkably dressed
Is it Real?
And you're always busy
Really busy
Busy, busy oh
Hairdresser on fire
All around Sloane Square
And you're just so busy
Busy, busy
Busy scissors, oh
Hairdresser on fire
All of the day..
Was a client over-cautious
He made you nervous
And when he said:
"I'm gonna sue you"
Oh I really felt for you
So can you squeeze me
Into an empty page of your diary
And supernaturally change me
CHANGE ME.. CHANGE..
Here in London
'Home of the brash, outrageous and free'
You are repressed
But you're remarkably dressed
Is it Real?
And you're always busy
Really busy
Busy clippers oh
Hairdresser on fire
All around Sloane Square
And you're just too busy
To see me
Busy clippers oh
Hairdresser on fire
All of the day

Excellent cavorting B-side to Suedehead, based on an experience where Morrissey couldn't find an appointment with a hairdresser. He ludicrously turned this incident into this very catchy song.

Parrucchiere in fiamme

Questa è Londra, la vecchia frivola Londra
E' la patria della gente libera o cosa?
Puoi inserirmi
in una pagina vuota della tua agenda
e salvarmi psicologicamente?
Io ho fiducia in te
Avverto la forza
sulle dita
Entro un'ora la forza
Può distruggermi completamente
o dare un senso alla mia vita
Questa è Londra
'Patria degli insolenti, degli oltraggiosi
E della gente libera'
Forse sarai un represso
ma sei pur sempre straordinariamente ben vestito
E' la Realtà questa?
E tu sei sempre così occupato
davvero occupato
occupatissimo, oh
Parrucchiere in fiamme
Tutt'attorno Sloane Square
Oh sei proprio così occupato
Occupatissimo
Forbici occupate
Parrucchiere in fiamme
Tutto il giorno
E' stato un cliente eccessivamente prudente
A renderti nervoso
E quando ti ha detto:
"Io la denuncerò"
Ho davvero provato compassione per te
Allora puoi inserirmi
dentro una pagina vuota della tua agenda
e cambiarmi in modo soprannaturale?
CAMBIARMI.. CAMBIARMI..
Qui a Londra
'Patria degli insolenti, degli oltraggiosi
E della gente libera'
Forse sarai un represso
ma sei pur sempre straordinariamente ben vestito
E' la Realtà questa?
E tu sei sempre occupato
davvero occupato
Cesoie occupate oh
Parrucchiere in fiamme
Tutt'attorno Sloane Square
Oh sei proprio troppo occupato
Per vedermi
Cesoie occupate oh
Parrucchiere in fiamme
Tutto il giorno

Incredibile ma vero, il testo si basa sul fatto che il protagonista (forse lo stesso Morrissey) non aveva potuto prendere un appuntamento dal parrucchiere. L'episodio è stato tramutato in una canzone molto accattivante.
