Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to keep it updated during the last 25 years are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts, passions and some bits of Life. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of the most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has always been a strong supporter since when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

Piccadilly Palare (unreleased)

Off the rails I was and
off the rails I was happy to stay
GET OUT OF MY WAY!
On the rack I was
"easy meat", and a reasonably good buy
A reasonably good buy

The Piccadilly palare
was just silly slang
between me and the boys in my gang
"So Bona to Vada. OH YOU
Your lovely eek and
Your lovely riah"

We plied an ancient trade
where we threw all life's
instructions away
Exchanging lies and digs (my way)
'Cause in a belted coat
Oh, I secretly knew
that I hadn't a clue

No, no, no... You can't get there that way
You follow me...

The Piccadilly palare was just silly slang
between me and the boys in my gang
Exchanging palare you wouldn't understand
Good sons like you
NEVER DO

A cold water room
It's not much I know,
but for now it's where I belong
Am I really doing wrong?
Around the centre of town
is where I belong
Am I really doing wrong?

So why do you smile when you think about Earl's Court?
But you cry when you think of all
the battles you've fought (and lost)?
It may all end tomorrow
or it could go on forever
In which case I'm doomed
It could go on forever

No Dad, No Dad,
I won't be home tomorrow
No Dad, No Dad...

Lo slang di Piccadilly

Ero uno sbandato ma
Sbandato ero contento di restare
"Toglietevi dai piedi!"
Sullo scaffale ero
"carne facile" ma anche un ragionevole buon acquisto
Un ragionevole buon acquisto

Il "palare" di Piccadilly
Era solo un gergo stupido
Tra me ed i ragazzi della mia banda
"Allora bona to vada, oh tu

Scambiandoci menzogne e camere in affitto (a modo mio)
Segretamente sapevo
Di non avere una traccia da seguire

No, no, no... Non puoi arrivarci da quella parte
Seguimi...

I bravi ragazzi come te
non capiscono mai

Una stanza con l'acqua fredda
Non è molto, lo so
ma per ora è dove sto
Sto davvero sbagliando?
Attorno al centro città
è il mio posto
Sto davvero sbagliando?

Potrebbe finire tutto domani stesso
Oppure continuare per sempre
(Nel qual caso io sono condannato)
Potrebbe continuare per sempre
(Nel qual caso io sono condannato)

No papà, no papà
non verrò a casa domani
No papà, no papà...
