The translation of the title in Italian is deliberately simplified with the word 'ex'. Morrissey literally plays with the verb 'to be' in the past tense to mean that, after the end of a relationship, he is now referred to in the past tense, with the expression 'he was' and no longer 'he is' (e.g. he was my partner, he was my lover, etc.). La traduzione del titolo è volutamente semplificata con la parola "ex". Letteralmente Morrissey gioca con il verbo essere al passato per significare che, dopo la fine della relazione, adesso ci si riferisce a lui al passato, con l'espressione "lui era" e non più "lui è" (per es. lui era il mio compagno, lui era il mio amante, ecc.).
