11/03/2013 - Morrissey cancella il concerto di San Francisco per sottoporsi a cure mediche per ‘polmonite bilaterale’ Sembra che Morrissey, dopo tutto, non abbia superato i suoi problemi di salute. Dopo aver suonato in sei concerti del suo tour americano, già riprogrammate, l’ex frontman degli Smiths questo pomeriggio ha annunciato che il concerto di stasera alla Recency Ballroom di San Francisco, già sold – out, “non avrà luogo” a causa delle “attuali condizioni di salute” del cantante. La nuova data per il concerto è stata fissata per il prossimo 1° maggio. Morrissey, che la notte scorsa aveva suonato a Portland, Oregon, ha rilasciato una dichiarazione attraverso il sito quasi ufficiale “True To You”, precisando che il prossimo concerto in programma, previsto per Martedì 12 marzo a Messico City, “rimane in programma”. Il cantante ha chiamato l’ex Beatle “Sir McCartload”, insinuando che, se davvero gli importasse degli animali, restituirebbe il suo cavalierato. “Mi ha divertito sapere che Sir Paul McCartload era molto arrabbiato perché lo Staples center ha detto sì a me e no a lui, io penso invece che dovrebbe essere contento per qualsiasi vittoria a favore degli animali. So che lavora instancabilmente per PETA, ma ama anche i reali inglesi, che trattano gli animali in modo terribile. E recentemente l'autore del libro, Stephen Chbosky, ha espresso su twitter tutta la propria eccitazione per averti incontrato. Perchè pensi che nella musica che hai creato con gli Smiths un quarto di secolo fa sia rimasto tutto questo fascino? Pensi che possa riempire un vuoto rimasto aperto nella musica di oggi? Morrissey: Tantissima gente ha nostalgia degli Smiths - e non perché tutti gli altri siano terribili, ma perché le canzoni degli Smiths sono davvero belle.
